This substrate is designed to slowly dissolve calcium into your turtle's aquarium water. Calcium is vital for shell growth, bone formation and muscle tone. Also behaving as a pH buffer, it helps to prevent water from becoming acidic and cause burning.

Can be used as:

• Substrate up to a depth of approximately 3cm
• A biological filtration media in a sump or canister filter
